Here are some interesting numbers concerning the restaurant industry and it’s employees:

There are approximately 10 million workers in the restaurant industry.
1 out of every 10 working Americans are employed in restaurants.
Of those:

28% of food service workers.
19.5% of all other industries.
Receive Medicaid

14% of food service workers.
8.5% of all other industries.
Receive Food Stamps

80% – have no sick leave
83% – do not receive healthcare coverage from their employer
58% – do not have any healthcare coverage
